Hikers found in good condition
Five hikers who camped near the Diamond Fork hot spings were expected back Saturday morning. When they hadn’t shown up by early afternoon, SAR was called and brought snowmobiles to shuttle team members to the trailhead where they would hike to the hot pots to check on the campers.
The hikers were found in good condition and only a few hundred yards beyond the gate. They were provided a snowmobile ride the rest of the way down to their car.
The mission then turned into a training opportunity for most of the new team members and several others as they rode department and personal sleds to Four Corners, taking advantage of the new snow and practicing riding techniques along the way.
