Motorcycles off trail above Forest Lake
A motorcycle rider slipped off a narrow trail several miles from a road. He and his father were unable to get the bike back up the steep hillside, so his father rode for help while the son began walking out.
The father made it several miles to Forest Lake before sliding off the trail and down the steep hillside there.
The SAR Singletrack Special Team (motorcycles) quickly retrieved the two riders, and were hired to return to each bike the next week to help retrieve the motorcycles. A mechanical advantage pulley system was required to bring the first bike back up to the trail.
