Missing 3 year old found at Payson Lakes

A missing 3 year old was found 45 minute after SAR was paged to Payson Lakes. The parents had been particularly concerned due to recent bear sightings in the area.

A page came out at 7:25 p.m. for Lincoln Beach at the south end of Utah Lake, but was canceled 12 minutes later.

Woman hiker injured at Bridal Veil Falls

A 34-year-old woman was injured when slipping and falling on a sharp rock below Bridal Veil Falls. SAR and Sundance Fire treated her injuries, loaded her into a stokes stretcher, and set up lowering stations for safety as they carried her down the mountain to a waiting ambulance.

High winds lead to 2 missions at Utah Lake State Park

When weather fronts pass through Utah Valley, their fierce winds can whip up 4′ waves in 15 minutes, sink boats, and have caused several drownings in recent years. Today turned out better with all boats returning safely to the harbor.

Utah Lake calls canceled

Two SAR calls to Utah Lake – the first in Saratoga Springs at 5:02 p.m. and the second at Utah Lake State Park in Provo at 10:37 p.m. – were canceled within 15 minutes as all victims were confirmed to be safely ashore.
