Man stuck on steep snowfield in Slate Canyon
A 23-year-old male called for help after getting trapped on a steep snowfield in Slate Canyon. The man was able to signal the DPS helicopter with his headlight, after which SAR units accompanied Provo Mountain Rescue units who were flown to Camel Back Pass Road and hiked to the victim.
The victim was roped up and walked down the steep slope by rescuers wearing crampons, and lowered over a few small cliffs, to waiting 4 wheelers and Mules which transported him to the parking lot.
