SAR assisted them and a tow truck driver who experienced several technical difficulties.

They built a fire while SAR hiked from the Squaw Peak Overlook to assist them with extra clothing, water, headlamps, and route finding. The group reached the road in a Provo Bench neighborhood at 5:30 a.m.

As they searched for tracks from victims, it was discovered that the truck had slid off the road earlier and had not yet been able to retrieve it.

Search and Rescue joined Provo Police and Fire and searched the river all the way to the lake.

An object was found a few feet under water that was suspected of being a body, and it was, but the body of a goat. The wheelchair serial number was traced and had been stolen. The thief who abandoned the wheelchair was later located.
